• This Holy Family Sculpture is made of polyresin, meticulously hand painted and polished individually. The art of creating a wooden finish to resin is a recently discovered technique which gives you the best of both worlds; the rustic natural feel and look of wood and the sculptural details that can only be achieved with resin. This sculpture will look new for many years to come, and the best part is it will not fade or crack/split (due to dryness) like wood does over a period of time.
• The Holy Family consists of the Child Jesus, the Virgin Mary, and Saint Joseph. Veneration of the Holy Family was formally begun in the 17th century by Saint François de Laval, the first bishop of New France. This figurine beautifully depicts the Holy Family and the story of Jesus Christ growing up as a child boy. Jesus did not come to the earth born in a royal family but he came to the world in a very ordinary family. God works in mysterious way, using ordinary people to do the extraordinary!
